It seems clear that the landscape of the events industry will remain permanently changed by the coronavirus pandemic. The shift to virtual revealed a number of advantages that were new to event organisers and that they will find difficult to ignore in the future. Even as face-to-face events have begun to resume, much uncertainty remains, so the hybrid format may present an appealing option to some.
