Virtual Events Institute announces new collaboration with Hyatt

The Virtual Events Institute (VEI) is teaming up with Hyatt to provide Hyatt’s meeting and event customers with the VEI certification and training course to deepen their knowledge of digital and hybrid events.

The collaboration with VEI, an organization of hybrid event experts serving the community of event professionals globally, is part of the hotel brand’s new suite of event offerings, called Together by Hyatt, which has been designed to support planners on their journey to return to events.

“Our new suite of meetings and events offerings, Together by Hyatt, provides meeting planners with new resources, capabilities and hybrid solutions to navigate the path forward, and we are committed to supporting them from planning to event execution,” said Steve Enselein, senior vice president of events, Hyatt.

“In listening to our customers, we’ve heard that hybrid meetings present challenges, but we also know there is excitement around the possibilities. Collaborating with the Virtual Events Institute enables us to advance care for our customers as they explore hybrid event formats, which we believe will provide many opportunities to extend meeting programming and make events more inclusive than ever before even once the pandemic is behind us.”

VEI was set up in July 2020 to provide training and education for event professionals and marketers on hybrid events. Since launch, more than 1,800 event professionals have registered for the VEI Certification Program. The online training program comprises on-demand modules, providing a step-by-step guide for all event disciplines, across sales, marketing, content, and operations.

Sophie Ahmed, co-founder and chief executive officer of VEI, said: “The VEI certification training program will help Hyatt to support its loyal event planners, positioning Hyatt to up-skill and grow its events and communities through hybrid events. We are delighted to be working with one of the world’s leading global hospitality brands as we move towards a hybrid and always-on future of events.”

VEI has also established partnerships with Informa Markets, UFI, AEO, AEV, MPI UK&I Chapter, EVCOM, Soundings Connect, EMA, and will be announcing further partnerships in the coming months.
