Since the United Kingdom left the European Union, two data protection regulations are running in parallel – the ‘original’ EU GDPR and the new UK GDPR. This has implications on #eventtech businesses in North America – not least that they may have to appoint separate representatives if they process the data of individuals in both the EU and the UK. This session will describe the implications of Brexit on personal data, and list the steps North American businesses have to take to ensure they comply with both laws.
