Event Tech Lab BBQ sizzles

Event organisers and event technologists celebrated ‘back to live’ at Event Tech Lab’s yearly Summer BBQ in Holborn, London. Tuesday’s celebrants braved a short spell of rain to chat, eat and drink in what turned out to be a perfect evening. Technologists from Europe, UK and the US mixed and mingled with exhibition organisers and event agencies.

Adam Parry, co-founder of Event Tech Live welcomed the guests and shared Event Tech Lab founder James Morgan’s news that he is relocating to Saudi Arabia. He will be taking up the position of Dean at the International Tourism and Hospitality College in Riyadh. SongDivision then performed a farewell song dedicated to James.

In a sombre moment, Simon Farnfield from Mash Media gave a eulogy to honour Jon Howell who passed away earlier in the year. Jon was a well-known personality amongst the event technology and event organiser community. He will be sorely missed.

The event was kindly sponsored by Katie Morhen’s communications agency 52Eight3, the world’s only dedicated event technology show – Event Tech Live, virtual events and AI networking platform Grip, virtual and live event management platform Shocklogic and entertainment agency Song Division.

The fifth edition of the BBQ is planned for July 2022.
