Every topic is posted by someone attending the show. Browse what is there and book a seat, or put up your own and see who joins you.

Three steps, about five minutes
Braindate is open now. Everything is booked in advance so you arrive knowing who you are meeting and when. Nothing to download.
Sign in
Go to etl26.braindate.com and sign in with the email address you registered for the show with. Add a photo and your job title so people know who they’re meeting.
Post or join
Put up a topic of your own, or browse what everyone else has posted and join the ones you want. Each booking comes with a time and a table, and lands in your schedule.
Turn up and talk
Come to the Braindate Lounge five minutes before. The team check you in and introduce you to your table, so nobody has to break the ice.
How to post a topic, and how to join one
Post a topic
- Sign in at etl26.braindate.com and choose to post a topic.
- Write it as the question you want answered. One line, specific, in plain English.
- Pick a group braindate (you plus up to three others) or a one-to-one.
- Set the times you’re free across the two days, so people can only book you when you can make it.
- Post it, then share the link on LinkedIn. Topics shared early fill first.
Join a topic
- Sign in and browse the topics, or search for the thing you’re working on.
- Check who’s hosting and who has already joined, so you know who you’ll be sitting with.
- Join a group braindate at the time shown, or ask for a one-to-one and the host confirms.
- It goes into your Braindate schedule with the time and table.
- Can’t make it after all? Cancel on the platform so the seat goes to someone else.
What makes a topic people join
Specific beats broad. “Event tech” won’t find anyone. “We switched registration platform mid-cycle, here’s what I’d do differently” fills a table. Lead with the problem, not your job title, and keep it to something you could talk about for 45 minutes. Sales pitches and product demos break the code of conduct and get taken down.
The topics come from the room
Nobody programmes these. They are whatever the people in the building want to work out. Four to give you the idea.

Questions, answered
A braindate is a conversation you book in advance with other people attending the show, built around a topic one of you has posted. You meet in person at the Braindate Lounge, talk for 45 minutes about the thing you all came to talk about, and go back to the floor. It is closer to a good pub conversation with the right people than it is to a meeting.
Nothing. Braindate is included with your Event Tech Live badge, and the badge itself is free. There is no upgrade, no separate ticket and no cap on how many conversations you join.
No. Braindate runs in your browser on a phone or a laptop. You sign in with the email address you used to register for the show, and that is the whole setup.

You can just join. Plenty of people never post a topic and get everything they wanted out of it. That said, hosting is easier than it sounds. You are not presenting, you are starting the conversation and keeping it moving, and the table does the rest.
The same people who come to Event Tech Live: organisers, agencies, venues, corporate event teams, associations and the technology companies building for them. You can see who has joined a conversation before you book it, so you know who you are sitting down with.
Post it early and make it specific. “Event tech” will not find anyone; “we moved off our registration platform mid-cycle and I would do three things differently” will. The Braindate team watch the platform in the run-up and on the day, and will point people at conversations that deserve more seats than they have.
Suppliers are welcome and a lot of the best hosts are on that side of the table. Sales pitches are not. Topics are held to a code of conduct and anything that reads as a product demo gets removed. Host a conversation about a problem you have solved for a client and you will get a full table.
On the show floor at Excel London. It is marked on the interactive floor plan, and your booking tells you which table you are on. The Lounge is open 09:30 to 16:30 on Wednesday 11 November and 09:30 to 15:30 on Thursday 12 November.
Cancel it on the platform so the seat goes back to someone else. Shows move around and nobody minds, but an empty chair at a full table is a shame. If you are running late on the day, come to the Lounge anyway and the team will sort you out.
