Momentus Technologies is building AI into every corner of the venue and event lifecycle: Momentus AI for Sales, AI for Events, and AI for Finance, three purpose-built layers designed to give sales, operations, and finance teams the same thing – a straight answer, in seconds, without chasing a spreadsheet or a specialist. Running horizontally across the Momentus AI platform is Ask Mo – the conversational AI assistant that just won Best AI for Venue, Logistics & Resource Optimisation at the Event Technology Awards AI Edition 2026.
Ask Mo isn’t a feature that belongs to one product in the lineup. It’s the layer a rep, an operations lead, and a finance analyst can each open from inside their own workflow and ask a plain-language question, in their own terms, and get a trusted answer back. The award recognises horizontal design working at enterprise scale.
“We’re thrilled to see this recognition for what we’ve built as a purpose-built AI platform for the venue and event industry, not a single feature, but a connected system that works the same way whether you’re in sales, on the event floor, or closing the books,” says Alex Griffis, Chief Product Officer at Momentus Technologies. “Ask Mo is the clearest expression of that so far: it’s already answering questions for tens of thousands of users across our platform, cutting the time teams spend piecing together reports and giving newer staff the confidence to find answers on their own instead of waiting on a specialist. That’s the outcome we set out to build toward, one assistant, built to understand how venues actually run, available to every team that needs an answer, and actually changing how fast venues can make decisions.”

The problem across sales, events, and finance is the same problem
Venue and event teams lose time in a strikingly consistent way, whatever seat they sit in. A planning question travels from an operations lead to a reporting specialist and back through email threads and shared files. Numbers drift as spreadsheets circulate and filters change. Newer staff raise tickets and interrupt experienced colleagues for routine guidance. Sales reps wait on pipeline visibility; finance teams wait on reconciled numbers. All of it slows the decisions that matter: staffing levels, space allocation, revenue mix, deal velocity, close timing.
Because the problem is the same shape everywhere, Momentus built the answer once and made it available everywhere. Ask Mo is that single, shared layer underneath the Momentus AI platform, rather than a separate assistant built for each.
Ask Mo: one assistant, across end-to-end venue operations
Momentus Ask Mo is a conversational AI assistant embedded directly inside the Momentus venue and event management platform, the platform that runs 85% of the world’s largest convention centres. From the pages teams already use to book and deliver events, anyone, from a front-desk coordinator to a director of event services, can ask a question in plain language and get an immediate, trusted answer: step-by-step guidance on completing a task, or a live look at booking trends, space utilisation, and revenue. Ask Mo replies in seconds, with clear narrative answers, charts, and visualisations.
Inside the workflow, not beside it
The design choice the judges kept returning to is that Ask Mo lives inside the core venue-management workflow rather than in a separate tool, dashboard, or bolt-on chatbot. It answers using the same terms teams use during booking and delivery, which builds immediate trust. Most analytics tools expect a specialist to design a dashboard before any value appears, and most help systems expect users to search documentation before they can act. Ask Mo removes both barriers: ask a question in plain language, get the answer, whether that question comes from a coordinator inside AI for Events, a rep inside AI for Sales, or an analyst inside AI for Finance.
Built for transparency and control
Under the surface, Ask Mo uses retrieval-augmented generation designed for control. It first works out intent, then routes the request: platform-guidance questions pull from approved product documentation and knowledge articles, while data questions run structured queries against approved application tables such as events, functions, spaces, service orders, and accounts. A contextual layer teaches it the organisation’s own language, how it defines event types, which spaces belong to a named group, so answers feel native. Security and permissions sit at the centre: results respect each user’s role, and outputs are checked against known reports and direct database queries so totals do not drift. That governance model, one set of rules for intent, routing, and permissions, is what lets a single assistant operate safely across sales, events, and finance data at once.
Enterprise scale, real-world adoption
Momentus is not experimenting at the edges. The platform serves more than 90,000 users across 57+ countries; over 85% of the world’s largest convention centres and more than half of NFL, NBA, and NHL teams run on it. That reach is why the judges valued the evidence of genuine adoption.
At Rochester Riverside Convention Center, Director of Business Analytics Gary Firlit says: “Ask Mo makes it easier for my team to get answers on their own, without hesitation. It’s a simple, practical way to help people feel more confident using our system.” ⚠ (Confirm we may publish this quote and name.)
The picture repeats at a multi-venue university managing hundreds of events a month. Before Ask Mo, an operations lead pieced together a weekly bundle of spreadsheets from different coordinators, each with slightly different filters, while newer staff raised frequent tickets for basic questions. After go-live, preparation time for the weekly planning session dropped sharply, ad hoc report requests to the central team fell, and experienced staff got their time back for event delivery. ⚠ (Confirm named-customer permissions and whether hard figures can be published.)
What the judges said
The judges were clear on the strengths. Michelle Rees called it “a highly polished, enterprise-ready solution with genuine operational depth,” singling out its execution and evidence of real-world adoption. Ignacio Fossati described “a practical and well-executed use of AI inside a mature venue management platform” that “addresses a real daily problem for venue teams: getting reliable answers from complex operational data without waiting on reports or specialists.”
“A highly polished, enterprise-ready solution with genuine operational depth. Particularly strong on execution and evidence of real-world adoption.” — Michelle Rees, Judge, Event Technology Awards AI Edition 2026
Why it matters for the industry
Ask Mo is proof of a bigger idea: not flashy AI features scattered across a product, but one coherent AI platform, spanning sales, events, and finance, governed by real permissions and grounded in an organisation’s own data and language. When the answer to an operational question is one sentence away, and it is trustworthy, teams stop chasing reports and start making decisions. For an industry that runs on tight timelines and thin margins, that is exactly the kind of AI that earns its place.
